The Calumet Artist Residency is dedicated to working to lower its carbon footprint and contributing to local climate and food resilience. We have supported local tree plantings by bringing in art activities and other support. In spaces we manage, we have planted over 100 trees as part of 3 evolving food forests. In 2022 we gave away over 800 native fruit and nut trees in collaboration with the Department of Performing Arts at IU Northwest.
